Need Improvement the situation for the lake chapala community.

Image
Hospital San Antonio Lago de Chapala was once my go to for everything clinical including two fruitful pregnancies and births. After my experience on 09/25/2022 in the trama center, I won't return. The medical caretakers need client support and sympathy of debilitated patients and group of those encountering a demise.  They revile while kids and older folks are available while congregating in the front as opposed to taking care of the people who matter. The attendants in the front end who are the primary resource didn't satisfy the vow they guaranteed.  The Hospital San Antonio bombed me and I'm so disheartened. The 4 hours I was their I likewise saw no cleaning staff particularly in a period of Coronavirus and monkey pox clean surfaces are significant. Not one seat was cleaned or floor wiped. Kindly improve the situation for the lake chapala community.

Doctor's negligence in Hospital San Antonio del Lago de Chapala

Image
I would like to brief you on the poor health state of my mother & the mental stress we went through, due to a doctor's negligence in Hospital San Antonio del Lago de Chapala . The first time, My mother had been through the replacement of a mitral valve in the year: 2019 and was successfully discharged from the hospital. As per the doctor's suggestion, we kept visiting the hospital for regular check-ups. Furthermore, she took PT-INR tests on regular basis. We called on the hospital number and informed the PT-INR report and as per the I.N.R. ratio, the on-duty doctor suggested us the mg dosage of medicine: ACITROM. We were unsatisfied with the doctor's response, due to their negligence my mother had been facing severe health issue and almost had an alarming health condition. Please see below the summary -   1.      On 11th April 2020, the doctor found the ACITROM dosage, which was suggested by another doctor wasn't correct as per the I.N.R rati...

San Antonio Hospital Scam in Mexico !

Image
I just had the worst scam from   San Antonio Hospital ! After a ruptured appendix operation and 4 days in the hospital, my bill reflected charges for a heart problem, a psychiatric evaluation, a case  of pneumonia ,  and a blood pressure problem (low) for which they insisted I need a peripheral internal catheter directly into my heart. I refused but was still charged.  I believe they are running scams.  Especially on foreigners.  I am an otherwise healthy senior who has routine medical care in the US. I have never had any of these problems nor take any medication. Oddly I never developed pneumonia.  Beware !

Trapped in Hospital San Antonio

My sister was trapped in Hospital San Antonio and forced to pay $100,000 It could happen to anyone but in this case it happened to my sister Recently my sister Jane and her husband of Lafayette, LA came to Mexico to attend their daughter’s wedding. My sister encountered chest pains and was taken to Hospital San Antonio by the Red Cross. The doctors said she needed surgery and required a $30,000 payment up front which max’d out the their credit cards. Then they were told that she needed a second operation and that an additional $30,000 had to be paid. At this point extended family was contacted and soon those cards were also max’d out. Meanwhile the bills kept mounting and a nationwide “GoFundMe” campaign was begun. As the surgical a care treatment costs continued to rise, "..they were threatening to put her literally on the streets if she did not pay up front. They threatened to move her to the IMSS hospital in Guadalajara which made no sense because IMSS is for workers....

DO NOT RECOMMEND - San Antonia Hospital

I went to Hospital San Antonio in 2 weeks ago for a minor stomach infection. Horrible place. The staff were using their cell phones without gloves and then touching the needles used to draw blood for lab exams. Very disturbing practices here. We were told by phone it would be like 3 to 4 hundred dollars, The cost ended up over $3,500 USD for a stomach infection. They ordered a tons of useless tests and made me wait in the ER for 8 hours...a simple dose of Cipro is all I needed . They made me get a CT Scan!!! For what? All I needed was some Cipro. Read the reviews on Google, this place is a scam.  Not recommended. Then when I asked them to explain the bill to me and why it was so high for useless tests they brought out some young doctor to take the heat. They actually threatened to call the Chapala Police if I did not quite down. Are they that desperate? They got me in a vulnerable situation and tried to take advantage of me as female gringo. The doctors there are decei...

Don't Recommend Hospital San Antonio !

I happened to be the first surgery ever at this hospital. If you do not have insurance, I would never recommend using  Hospital San Antonio del Lago de Chapala.  I had an excellent doctor from Guadalajara and he thought it best to have the surgery at this new hospital and told me the cost would be about $1500 dollars U.S. I was weighing the idea to go to the U.S. as I have insurance there and it would only be the cost of an airline ticket.  I made the wrong decision. After a successful surgery I was astounded when I got the bill of $4700 for a 6 hour stay there. The Doctor was also surprised and embarrassed and on my behalf he went to the Manager of the hospital to try and correct the overcharging without any success.  In fact, since he had made this complaint, he lost his right to do surgery there. The manager's response to him was "These Gringos have a lot of money and he would not reduce the charges. I later found out that in Guadalajara the cost of ...

Hospital San Antonio del lago de chapala : Lack of urgency and care

Image
One morning, my father was ill and unconscious. We called an ambulance, and the Cruz Roja ambulance said that we had only two options of hospitals to take him to. One option was San Antonio , and the other was RMC.  However, we wanted to take him to Guadalajara. On the surface, this hospital looks excellent. However, it became apparent that they were not equipped to help my dad. Only one doctor was available, and few nurses. In the afternoon, after hours of seeing that my dad was not improving. We asked them to please transfer him to Guadalajara to another hospital that could provide more services for my dad.  They said yes; however, we began to notice that they were only worried about charging, there was no urgency to transfer my dad, and the bills kept climbing. We thought the ambulance would be there shortly and tried to pay all the charges, and they kept coming. At one point, it seemed comical to them, "Oh my, here is one more." The ambulance that showed up was given...
