Hospital San Antonio del lago de chapala

 Hospital San Antonio is the worst ever hospital I came across till now. I doubt if the doctors there have genuine or fake degrees. 


My Sister in law was admitted cause she had a stone pain. I literally heard the senior doctor asking the junior doctor who was examining my brother " will you pass and clear your exams this time in Spanish". I speak enough Spanish because I am married to a Mexican. Then they thought I was a dumb Gringo so they tried to charge our family for services and exams that they never did. 


Fortunately my wife resolved this in Spanish. I was dumbstruck by this. The moment they realise the person is insured they'll make a huge bill and will charge you like anything. No professionalism at all. Cleaners smoking in patient's washroom. Lazy and slow.  Doctors literally don't have any knowledge playing with people's life . I would never suggest this hospital to anyone.

    The hospital San Antonio has lacks good service that is why a rip off. If they want to charge a lot they need to excel in their service.

    I think the charges are excessive at HSA . If the service was optimal, the charges would not be a problem.

DO NOT RECOMMEND - San Antonia Hospital

  I went to Hospital San Antonio in 2 weeks ago for a minor stomach infection. Horrible place. The staff were using their cell phones without gloves and then touching the needles used to draw blood for lab exams. Very disturbing practices here. We were told by phone it would be like 3 to 4 hundred dollars, The cost ended up over $3,500 USD for a stomach infection. They ordered a tons of useless tests and made me wait in the ER for 8 hours...a simple dose of Cipro is all I needed . They made me get a CT Scan!!! For what? All I needed was some Cipro. Read the reviews on Google, this place is a scam.  Not recommended. Then when I asked them to explain the bill to me and why it was so high for useless tests they brought out some young doctor to take the heat. Scams in Lake Chapala Healthcare

  A California woman visiting Mexico had to have two emergency heart surgeries. Now Hospital San Antonio headed by Sr. Calderon won’t release her until she pays a $40,000 bill. U.S. officials have warned travelers about hospital scams in Mexico.   A representative of the patient reached out to  Hospital San Antonio in Lake Chapala  and no  one at the hospital spoke enough English to answer any questions. The patient was visiting friends in Ajijic when she began having trouble breathing. When she collapsed and lost consciousness on Monday Dec 31  she was transported to  Hospital San Antonio in Lake Chapala The patient  was treated for an arterial blockage  in her heart but not before the family was forced by the hospital to pay $25,000 upfront.
